TOTAL BUILDING PERFORMANCE : EVALUATION OF THE SENTOSA COVE RESORT MANAGEMENT OFFICE

Abstract

This dissertation aims to evaluate the Total Building Performance mandates of the Sentosa Cove Resort Management office and assess the impacts of failure to comply with the performance mandates on the occupants of the office building. The purpose of this study is to address the common assumption that most buildings are built to comply with Total Building Performance. This dissertation engages both the subjective and objective study along the parameters of the performance mandates. The findings from this study suggest that most of the time, occupants’ comfort are compromised for space and cost factors. Most of the performance mandates are not met in this case. The limitations of carrying out the fieldwork lies in the limited availability of information on the building integrity as well as the availability of only simplified equipments available for carrying out the fieldwork.
