ScholarBank@NUS Repository. | Abstract: | Existing neighborhoods could potentially be readapted for future growth rather than the pragmatic approach of demolition and rebuild through the en-bloc model that Singapore chooses for its redevelopment strategy. Thriving communities can exist in a dense setting with an expanded range of housing options, complementing amenities and public social spaces, where they start to be stratified across multi-level to achieve a liveable and connected den-city. The reimagined housing could feature an environment catered towards the convenience and well-being of residents, buildings readapted to be resource sufficient, mixed-used, and essentially to curate a space that allows for live, learn, work, play and make to coexist within the same premise and improve the overall housing environment and quality of life especially in a post-covid setting. | URI: | https://scholarbank.nus.edu.sg/handle/10635/222540 |
