Abstract: My thesis is Rejuvenating and Redefining the role of Geylang East Town Centre. Town centre has to periodically adjust itself to respond to change and the most current needs and demands of the society. Change includes increase in population density, change in demographics, further development of the neighbourhood, change in infrastructure, introduction of a new transport system, etc. However, there is a recurring trend of one form fits all solution. My thesis is an attempt to reshuffle the hierarchy of rejuvenation, placing dominant emphasis on nature and recreation.
