Abstract: The thesis began by exploring some cultural handicraft villages in Da Nang and Hoi An in Central Vietnam. Upon exploration, the famous traditional handicraft marble carving village, commonly known as the Marble Mountains , situated approximately 7 kilometers south from Da Nang city, was discovered to be facing some serious environmental and economical issues due to their current poor work practices. This thesis aims to design a craft school for the community in Marble Mountains to revitalize and sustain the marble carving culture that exist for a few decades through demonstration of good work practices and integrated filtration systems to control pollution.
