Title: | IMPLEMENTATION OF ENERGY EFFICIENT AIR-CONDITIONING EQUIPMENT | Authors: | ANG MEI YENG MAVIS | Keywords: | Building | Issue Date: | 23-Sep-2009 | Citation: | ANG MEI YENG MAVIS (2009-09-23T09:27:55Z). IMPLEMENTATION OF ENERGY EFFICIENT AIR-CONDITIONING EQUIPMENT. ScholarBank@NUS Repository. | Abstract: | In the absence of the essential natural resources for generating electricity, Singapore will still face a vital problem that is the shortage of energy for the immediate and long term future. Due to the hot and humid climate in Singapore, the energy demand for air conditioning systems is very high in order to achieve the occupants’ indoor comfort level. Hence, implementation of energy efficiency air conditioning equipment in air conditioned buildings is an important approach to achieve minimum energy consumption as well as resources conservation. In order to implement energy efficiency air-conditioning equipment in a building, design criteria must be established to select the most appropriate type and size of air conditioning equipment. Moreover, the performance of the air conditioning equipment must be optimized to achieve energy savings and the occupants’ indoor comfort. Incorporating green features into air-conditioning systems can also help to further reduce energy consumption and still maintaining the optimal performance of the air conditioning equipment. | URI: | https://scholarbank.nus.edu.sg/handle/10635/222124 |
