Abstract: The Design, Build and Sell Scheme (DBSS) is a new scheme introduced by Housing and Development Board (HDB) that brings about new innovation to public housing in Singapore. DBSS is a partnership between the public and private sectors, with direct involvement of private developers to the development of public housing. The “private” design of public housing comes with condominium-like features like fitting and furnishes. The attractive factors of DBSS are sought for this report. A goodwill data survey was obtained with 200 respondents who have purchased a DBSS unit - 100 respondents purchase a unit at The Premiere @ Tampines and 100 respondents purchase a unit at City View at Boon Keng. With the reference to article reports, past dissertation references, and the analysis of the survey results, we will conclude on the most important factor of attractiveness over DBSS flat. The results show that DBSS is attractive largely due to its prime location, good investment value and posh fitting and finishes. In addition, various groups of buyers may have different preference and liking, thus it is important to determine the target group DBSS are looking at and to do necessary adjustment to cater to their special needs. It was justified by the overwhelming response shows during the launches of the project with the 100% sold of The Premiere @ Tampines and the high take-up rate of City View at Boon Keng. Till keeping up to the DBSS housing stocks, the government is introducing more sites for DBSS development
