ScholarBank@NUS Repository. | Abstract: | Eco-tourism has been gaining popularity among all aged group. One such activity in demand is scuba diving. People jetting out from their concrete jungle just to be close to nature. This has resulted to a recreation with very high carbon footprint. The thesis investigate architecture as a medium that incorporate coral rejuvenation and revitalizing marine biodiversity into the degraded site, with the integration of scuba diving resort that facilitate diving within Singapore. As such, reduces the carbon footprint of the travelling diver and also creating awareness of the condition for our local water. The thesis explores methods in restoring the coral reef hence regenerating marine biodiversity in our world class renowned seaport water. It support the ideology of development co-existing with marine conservation. The human intervention of creating artificial coral reef is vital in this project especially the remaining 12ha of reef in Singapore’s water.
