Abstract: Indoor Air Quality (IAQ) is one of the major concerns to the users in gymnasium as they use the gym to stay fit and healthy. In Singapore, air-conditioning systems are installed in all gymnasiums but the central air-conditioning system and split air-conditioning system have critical differences in performance. The scope of this study focus on the differences of Indoor Air Quality performances in a gymnasium served by a central air-conditioning system located in University Sports Centre (USC) of the National University of Singapore (NUS) and another gymnasium which has a split air-conditioning system in a condominium. Research methodology including experiment and survey questionnaire will be used for collecting necessary information. This study aims to find out which system is more suitable for providing better IAQ to users of gymnasium. Limitations of this dissertation would be summarized after verifying hypothesis.
