ScholarBank@NUS Repository. | Abstract: | This dissertation aims to uncover and understand the influence of the sea breeze on the the wind environment in National University in Singapore (NUS), given its close proximity to the shore. Weather stations equipped with the proper equipment to measure parameters such as solar radiation and wind direction were placed at strategic locations around the NUS campus. After a period of monitoring the data which was uploaded on the cloud, the data is then analysed in this dissertation to look at the behaviour of wind around NUS campus and to identify significant characteristics to understand the wind environment in NUS better. Data from April, June and Au- gust of 2019 were used in this study as they have different characteristics which will be discussed in this study. However, as the purpose is to understand the influence of sea breeze on the wind environment, it is important to identify the favourable sea breeze days through a criteria that is discussed in the research methodology. Therefore, with the the analysis and observations gath- ered, recommendations and limitations of the study are discussed at the end of this dissertation. | URI: | https://scholarbank.nus.edu.sg/handle/10635/219933 |
