Abstract: This thesis explores the interplay between quantum information and thermodynamics via three projects. The first considers how correlations affects the performance of an optical Maxwell's demon; the second explores if the family of alpha-second laws hold in the presence of inhomogeneities, whereas the third studies if quantum correlation can enhance the precision of a thermometry protocol.
