dc.description.abstract | We report a case of a 67-year-old Chinese man admitted to the emergency department for a persistent bleed on the tongue. Initial digital pressure and application of topical tranexamic acid did not stop the bleeding. An improvised clamp applied to the tongue was successful in achieving haemostasis. Using this method, there was no need for a clinical staff to be present for manual application of pressure. This frees up the staff for other clinical duties and matters. | |
