Abstract: In this work, we examine a gauge-theory of gravity with translational symmetry. Here, we recast the problem in a bundle-theoretic framework with the underlying structure corresponding to that of the affine bundle. Our analysis elucidates the relationship between the presence of torsion and the translational degrees of freedom. We also consider generalised gauge transformations on the affine bundle and show how torsional degrees of freedom transform under the prescribed gauge symmetry. It's implications will also be discussed.
