Abstract: Singapore’s biopolitical foreign labour regime divides local and foreign workers into two populations, the divided positionality generating the substance of both. My 3-month participant observation in a Singaporean Firm revealed how this division nests at the nexus of the broader forces of Capitalism, Nationalism and Foreign Poverty, and how business strategies based on this division results in corrosive problems for Singaporean Economy and the Singaporean worker.
