dc.description.abstractHybrid renewable energy systems, as the combination of different energy systems, provide a promising way to harvest maximum renewable energy. In the past decade, it has been a popular and rising topic in the research field. In this paper, the emerging application as well as the recent development in the design and operation of hybrid renewable energy systems are reviewed. The remaining challenges and future perspectives in the field are also discussed.
