Abstract: Advances in thin-film synthesis techniques have enabled the design of heterointerfaces at an atomic level. Interface sets boundary conditions that manifest novel properties in heterostructures of strongly correlated electron systems. Ferroelectric control of interfacial magnetic properties has attracted much attention. Particularly, the multiple interactions at the interfaces in multiferroic superlattices constructed with ferromagnetic layers periodically interleaved with ferroelectric layers are of great interest. In this thesis, a detailed study of magnetic properties of about [La0.67Sr0.33MnO3 (LSMO)/PbZr0.52Ti0.48O3(PZT)]n superlattice thin films is investigated. The manipulation of magnetic states in the ferromagnetic/ferroelectric superlattices may provide a new path towards realizing multiple accessible states in spintronic devices.
