Title: | REGULATION OF STOMATAL DEVELOPMENT BY GLYCINE-RICH PROTEINS AND HIGH TEMPERATURE | Authors: | SONG ZHUOJUN | Keywords: | Stomatal development, glycine-rich proteins, high temperature, cellulose synthesis, MAPKs, root development | Issue Date: | 15-Jan-2020 | Citation: | SONG ZHUOJUN (2020-01-15). REGULATION OF STOMATAL DEVELOPMENT BY GLYCINE-RICH PROTEINS AND HIGH TEMPERATURE. ScholarBank@NUS Repository. | Abstract: | Stomata are pores bordered by a pair of guard cells which facilitate gas exchange between plants and the environment. Stomatal development is highly plastic and is responsive to multiple environmental signals. We identified a novel glycine rich protein -GLYR, which is an ER localized negative regulator of stomatal development. The mutant of GLYR shows significantly more stomata, and they possess shorter lateral roots and have lower cellulose content. These phenotypes share surprising similarity with mutants of cellulose synthases. | URI: | https://scholarbank.nus.edu.sg/handle/10635/183176 |
