Abstract: A numerical procedure is presented for the analysis of static pile load test results. The non-linear nature of small strain stiffness for soil is introduced into the finite element analysis of single pile and pile groups. Extensive quasi-nonlinear analyses are carried out to investigate the influence of various parameters on pile-soil interaction. Comparisons of quasi-nonlinear results and field measurements show good agreement. The quasi-nonlinear analysis considering the small strain stiffness of soil better models the behaviour of single pile and pile groups. The quasi-nonlinear analyses of static pile load test with reaction pile system are conducted. Studies are presented to show the effects of various parameters on pile-soil pile interaction in pile groups at working load. Design charts are presented for determining the true settlement of the test pile under working load condition. For pile load test with kentledge, the study is concentrated on the influence of kentledge on pile load test. Studies showing the influence of various parameters on soil structure (circular and strip footing) interaction are illustrated. Some suggestions on the location of the kentledge cribbage in pile load test are given.
