Abstract: In high-rise buildings, structural forms are generally identified by lateral load resisting systems. When outrigger trusses are used in structural system with central core, they become efficient and effective in controlling the lateral deformation of a building caused by lateral force. Use of outriggers for tall concrete building structures in seismic zone is investigated in the present study. In addition to supporting gravity loads, the structural from of building must be able to control the excessive drift to prevent structural and non-structural damage during moderate earthquake loading. This study is aimed to study the advantages of using outrigger diagonals instead of outrigger beams at different height. Analysis is carried out using computing analysis software package ETABS. Both static equivalent procedure and dynamic analysis procedure are used. In this study, a dynamic analysis is required by Indonesian Code since the structures is over 40 m in height.
