PUBLICATIONS

Abstract

From the publications listed, papers 1-24 represent my main contributions on microglia. Of these, papers 1-3 are derived from my postdoctoral research with Professor C. P. Leblond, FRS at McGill University, Canada. I am the sole or senior author of papers 4-24 comprising of research conducted at the University of Singapore (1972-1982). The results of my early work were summarized in paper 21 which is a review and an invited chapter in Advances in Cellular Neurobiology. Papers 24-41 represent my more recent research on microglia and neural macrophages carried out at the National University of Singapore. Arising from the Ph.D. theses of Dr Tseng and Dr Kaur are papers listed 25, 27, 30-31, 33, 35-37. These were completed under our guidance with Professor W.C. Wong and myself as supervisors. Papers 42-53 represent a collection of work on autonomic nervous system with special reference to the vagus nervo. Of these papers 42-46, 49 are from the studies of our Ph.D. students, Dr Tay and Dr Vaithilingam with Professor Wong and myself as supervisors. Papers 47, 48, 50-53 result from my collaboration with my colleagues at the National University of Singapore. Paper 51 ls the outcome of my study leave undertaken with my colleagues in Taiwan. Papers 51, 55 are derived from my early research at the University of Cambridge (1966-1969) for a Ph.D. degree under the supervision of Professor E.N. Willmer, FRS whilst papers 56, 57 are my early contributions on invertebrate ultrastructural anatomy. All the research was carried out at the Physiological Laboratory, Cambridge, Papers 58-61 are my peripheral interest done in collaboration with my colleagues in the present department.
