Abstract: Many issues and challenges confront an ageing society as it seeks to understand how to deal with an increasing proportion of older people. The challenge facing us now is how we deal with a trend that will lead to changes in the way a society with a steadily increasing share of old people in the economy works. The ability to maximise productivity in old-age is a key issue that needs to be looked into. As the future will see the proportion of aged increase, the most direct and effective solution for an ageing population is to turn them into assets. Properly planned and managed, the future of a society with an ageing population may continue to look promising.
