Title: | A STUDY OF 2D AND 3D FACE REPRESENTATION TECHNIQUES | Authors: | MYINT MYINT AUNG@MYA MYA AUNG | Issue Date: | 1999 | Citation: | MYINT MYINT AUNG@MYA MYA AUNG (1999). A STUDY OF 2D AND 3D FACE REPRESENTATION TECHNIQUES. ScholarBank@NUS Repository. | Abstract: | The aim of this thesis is to study and develop 2D and 3D graphical facial models and representation of facial expressions. The focus here is to develop a functional representation for a human facial image using mathematical formulae. In doing this one can obtain different facial expressions by changing parameters of the facial representation. In this presentation, regeneration of six universal expressions is examined. Apart from this we have also discussed a system that can illustrate the fundamentals of surface and curve design with an interactive environment in which one can design, modify and manipulate surfaces and curves. In this project we have studied some methods of facial animation in computer graphics using geometric representation. The objective is to enhance the quality of computer graphics by discovering curves and surfaces with some functions of geometric representations. These action controls could perform a variety of different facial expressions and they have been applied to model the set of six universal expressions namely joy, sadness, fear, anger, disgust and surprise. | URI: | https://scholarbank.nus.edu.sg/handle/10635/175852 |
