ScholarBank@NUS Repository. https://doi.org/10.1039/c7ra03214e | Abstract: | A porous tough hydrogel (alginate-polyacrylamide) is successfully synthesized using a photo-gelling polymer as a templating agent. Unlike current porous hydrogels, we present a useful pore-enhancing strategy without sacrificing the mechanical properties of the parent matrix. These porous tough hydrogels, as 3D cell culture scaffolds, can mimic the extracellular matrix and allow maximum nutrient exchange. © The Royal Society of Chemistry 2017. | Source Title: | RSC Advances | URI: | https://scholarbank.nus.edu.sg/handle/10635/173963 | ISSN: | 20462069 | DOI: | 10.1039/c7ra03214e |
