Abstract: Since the beginning of time, structures have always been the crowning achievement of any civilization. Like the Egyptians and the Mayans before them, erecting superstructures was a way of showing the glory and the prestige of the day and age. Whether it was to reach the gods or to seal immortality, good design, construction and maintenance practices was always an important aspect in ensuring the builders acheive their desired goals. In the shadow of the builders of old, the modern-day builders also took pride in their disciplined and proper building procedures. To enhance further the quality of these processes, design/maintenance feedback could be acquired, but can it really help? This is what this dissertation hopes to prove. The advantages and uses of design/maintenance feedback is also highlighted in this dissertation to show its importance and use as a tool in the building process. It is interesting to surmise that, if the feedback from the builders of the pyramids inspired the centuries most spectacular buildings, can the incorporating of maintenance/design feedback in the building process be the conerstone to ensuring these buildings last for centuries to come?
