Abstract: Acute leukemia is the major form of malignancy in children. Acute leukemia includes a heterogeneous group of malignant diseases derived from transformed haematopoietic progenitors at various stages of differentiation. Research in acute leukemia involves a very broad spectrum of topics, which can be categorized into two major aspects i.e. clinical research and basic research. This thesis was designed to systematically study Singapore children with acute leukemia in order to understand the current status In clinical management as well as in basic research in childhood acute leukemia in Singapore.
