Abstract: Electronic mail system has come a long way since 1970. With the many benefits accruing from the use of E-mail system, many organisations have been keen to adopt it, hoping to alter the way people communicate and share information. The National University of Singapore (NUS) is one such organisation. This study was conducted to explore the usage rate of NUSNET electronic mail system and factors that influence its usage. Several interesting results were found from the study. In general, the results of this study showed that despite the high degree of computer literacy among the teaching staff, the NUSNET E-mail system is not fully utilised. Several factors, however, which are able to increase usage have been identified. A more comprehensive summary of the survey findings is available in the last chapter of this report.
