Public conveniences not only portray the image of the building and it's operator; the condition also portrays the image of Singaporeans, in the way the conveniences are used, when visitors from foreign countries visit them. Coupled with the aim of promoting Singapore both as a financial centre and tourist attraction, the need to upgrade the condition of the public conveniences is greater called for. This study shows that the way public conveniences are utilised are influenced by the users' behaviour and attitude. Hence, to improve the condition of the public conveniences, there is the need to understand the users' bahaviour and attitude, and thus identify user requirements. Also, to meet rising affluence and changing demand of the people, improvements, such as the installations of new innovative facilities should be considered. In addition, the aesthetic value of public conveniences should not be ignored, but improved to make the use more comfortable. Suggestions and recommendations have been put forth with the hope that they will be taken up so as to make public conveniences more user friendly. | URI: | https://scholarbank.nus.edu.sg/handle/10635/167632 |
