Abstract: Condominium concept is enjoying growing popularity in Singapore. However, the difficulty of having an equitable method of share value allocation leads to management problems of the condominiums. The share value allocation is important as it determines the extent of rights (voting rights and the quantum of undivided share in the common property) and liabilities (amount of contribution to the management and sinking funds). This study highlights the importance of share value and examines the various possible methods of share value allocation. Analysis of the survey seeks to determine the level of residents' satisfaction on the various methods of share value allocation. Recommendations are made to enable more equity in the share value allocation.
