The term aeromobilities was popularized around the late 2000s. Allied with the "new" mobilities paradigm, it has expanded to encompass a variety of spatialities that relate to sociocultural dimensions and politics of moving by and through the air. Four geographical dimensions have become prominent in aeromobilities research in recent years: the airport, airspace, the aircraft, and abject bodies that are excluded from air travel. They point to a variety of novel experiences, and sometimes problematic conditions, related to flight that have come to define the social world in an age of aeromobilities.
