Abstract: Property management is becoming an important part of a real estate firm's operations. Stiff competition in the market has forced the firms to lower their fees and this has cut into their profits. As a result, the firms are looking for ways to cut down the operating cost. One possible solution is computerisation. But how should one who is not well-versed in computers proceed in this direction? The first and foremost step is the requirements analysis. Omission of this step would be to court disaster. This study examines the requirements analysis for the computerisation of a property management accounting system, differentiating between the management of investment and strata title properties.
