THIS DISSERTATION EXAMINES THE EFFECT OF THE RISE OF CHINAA??S MANUFACTURING INDUSTRY ON THE SEVEN EAST ASIAN ECONOMIES (INDONESIA, KOREA, MALAYSIA, PHILIPPINES, SINGAPORE, THAILAND AND TAIWAN) IN RESPECT OF BILATERAL TRADE AND EXPORT PERFORMANCE. IN PARTICULAR, IT MEASURES THE EXTENT OF THE VERTICAL INTRA-INDUSTRY TRADE BETWEEN CHINA AND SEVEN EAST ASIAN COUNTRIES AND TO IDENTIFY FACTORS THAT INFLUENCE THE TRADE PATTERNS BETWEEN CHINA AND HER MAJOR TRADE PARTNERS IN EAST ASIA. |
