Abstract: 

THIS THESIS DEALS SPECIFICALLY WITH DEFORMABLE 3D MESH MODELS. A TRIANGULAR MESH IS DEFINED BY THE LOCATION OF ITS VERTICES (TERMED GEOMETRY), THE MANNER IN WHICH THE TRIANGLES ARE CONNECTED (TERMED CONNECTIVITY), SURFACE COLOR, NORMAL AND TEXTURE PROPERTIES. A DEFORMABLE MESH MODEL DESCRIBES AN OBJECT WHOSE SHAPE CHANGES OVER TIME. MESH DEFORMATIONS CAN BE REALIZED BY (A) PURELY CHANGING THE MESH GEOMETRY (BY MOVING MESH VERTICES) WHILE RETAINING THE CONNECTIVITY OR (B) CHANGING BOTH MESH GEOMETRY AND CONNECTIVITY. GIVEN A MESH SEQUENCE IN WHICH EACH MESH HAS UNDERGONE A SET OF UNKNOWN DEFORMATIONS WITH RESPECT TO ITS PRECURSOR OR ALTERNATIVELY, A SET OF MESHES, EACH OF WHICH IS OBTAINED ON DEFORMING A (FIXED) REFERENCE, WE ATTEMPT TO EFFICIENTLY (A) DISCOVER THE DEFORMATIONS (B) MODEL THE DEFORMATIONS USING PARAMETERS AND (C) USED THE PARAMETERIZED REPRESENTATION FOR MESH MANIPULATION. IN THIS THESIS, WE DISCUSS THE MESH DEFORMATION REPRESENTATION PROBLEM WITH REFERENCE TO TWO APP
