Abstract: It hardly needs to be emphasized that today's trends are born of yesterday's activities and will generate tomorrow's situation. Since values in the past has been responding to changes in economic conditions and state policies, the knowledge of market reactions to specific past events and measures could serve as a guide to the prediction of the Real Estate market behaviour in the future. Hence, this dissertation attempts to review the property market of the past two decades, highlighting three main features of its residential sector namely, the property development; property sale and rental trends; and the ownership pattern. It hopes to give a better understanding and knowledge of the present market and thus help developers with their future investments.
