REAL ESTATE FINANCING (WITH PARTICULAR REFERENCE TO SINGAPORE)

Abstract

Over the last few yeara, Singapore has seen a sudden expansion of real estate activities. The nusbera of real estate investors and developers have grown greatly too. Than, a keen interest was suddenly generated both in the business and academic worlds. However, up to data, no comprehensive study has yet been undertaken in respect of real estate financing. Articles in newspapers. Journals, periodicals and magazines occasionally feed us with some information, but they occur in separate pieces and the treatment lacks in-depth analysis. The awareness of this situation has from tine to time kindled in me a desire to compile this thin book. It is with the hope that this small piece of work would serve a purpose to thoae interested in this specialised field, that this study is undertaken. It is not practically possible for ma to attempt an exhaustive study because the time given is relatively short. Henceforth, there is atill much scops for expansion here. In any case, information irrelevant to Singapore context is excluded so as to avoid confusion. It is regretted that much of the information and data which would otherwise be of great help to this academic exercise are unobtainable from both the private and public organisations. Nevertheless, were it not for the help of a few individuals the present work would not have been completed.
