Abstract: Production Management System (PMS) optimizes assembly operations by ensuring materials are ideally deployed, taken into account of the various variables of a dynamic nature of manufacturing operations such as operator, machine and indirect material availability, machine configuration, efficiency rate and run-rate, weekly commits, upstream/downstream process needs, etc. The ability to manage material flow will help maximize production capacity and minimize production cost through efficient management of operations. Current practices are mostly manual in nature and vary depending on the experience of production team that operates in the different shifts and areas. While there are various in-house enterprise systems available, there is no systems level approach that consolidates the various information available and help guide production team to consistently schedule material flow in the most efficient manner. In contrast, a PMS system will be able to recompute material flow plan based on the production dynamics of each log point thereby guiding production team to achieve the best possible outcome. In this dissertation, the author analyzed and designed the logic and algorithm for this system. By following the methodology stating in this paper, the system implementation will be developed to assist the production arrangements.
