dc.description.abstractIn this paper, we review recent research that exploits the audio-visual interaction in multimedia communication, including: lip synchronization, joint audio-video coding, and bimodal person verification. These results show that joint processing of audio and video provides advantages that are not available when audio and video are studied separately.
