dc.description.abstractThe ultrastructure of chorionic villi of normal early human placenta was described. The evidence suggested that syncytiotrophoblast is derived from cytotrophoblast. The multiple functions and manifold metabolic activity of the trophoblast were correlated with the electron microscopic findings.
