dc.description.abstractTraces the development of oil and natural gas resources of Indonesia from the colonial period to the present day. Seeks to provide an overview of these petroleum resources by examining the geological setting of the deposits, and problems of exploration and production, the institutional and contractual framework, and the uncertainties involved in assessing the extent of the petroleum reserves and resources of the Indonesian archipelago. Also examines the role oil plays in the Indonesian economy and the problems of developing alternative sources of energy.-from Author
