Issue Date: | Mar-2006 | Citation: | Chua, K.H., Van Bever, H.P.S. (2006-03). Parent satisfaction with spacer usage in Singapore. Paediatrics, Child and Adolescent Health 1 (1) : 19-21. ScholarBank@NUS Repository. | Abstract: | Spacers are widely used in asthma therapy, especially in treating young asthmatic children. However, there are many practical problems faced by the caregiver, in most cases the parent, when administering spacer therapy. In this study we surveyed 41 parents of asthmatic children on spacer therapy. We determined the main difficulties faced when using spacers, the popularity of the various spacers in use in Singapore, and ways to improve on the current spacers. We found that 91.5% of parents were satisfied with their current spacer device, and the doctor's recommendation was the most important consideration when parents chose a spacer. | Source Title: | Paediatrics, Child and Adolescent Health | URI: | http://scholarbank.nus.edu.sg/handle/10635/133361 | ISSN: | 17933110 |
