Abstract:	The significance of home photo content modeling for personalized event-based retrieval is discussed. The home photos are explained as digital photos taken by average consumers to record their lives as digital memory. Effective tools are needed to organize and access photos in a semantically meaningful way without much manual effort. The semantic gap between feature-based indexes computed automatically and human query and retrieval preferences was also described.
