Abstract: Influence of maternal and fetal transferrin types and concentrations on the fetal growth has been investigated in 1,174 normal full-term singleton newborns, including 352 mother-newborn pairs. No significant effect of these parameters was observed on the weight and length of the newborns. Newborn plasma transferrin concentration was not correlated with maternal plasma transferrin concentration.
