It is suggested that excerpts from the movie Bambi can be successful used as an introduction to the distinction between two French past tenses (imparfait & passe compose) following general guidelines (eg, choose a brief excerpt with several, distinct scenes). Students (N unspecified) were shown segmented excerpts & asked to focus on various aspects of three different scenes (eg, movement/action, static, dynamic, isolated act, & repeated action). The visual initialization was followed by a more traditional instructional lesson on the two tenses. Students enjoyed the multimedia approach that they found entertaining & clear. D. Ayoun.
