Issue Date: | 1-Apr-2009 | Citation: | Zhang, Q., Gong, J., Oh, C.H. (2009-04-01). All-optical imprinting of geometric phases onto matter waves. Physical Review A - Atomic, Molecular, and Optical Physics 79 (4) : -. ScholarBank@NUS Repository. https://doi.org/10.1103/PhysRevA.79.043632 | Abstract: | Traditional optical phase imprinting of matter waves is of a dynamical nature. Here we show that both Abelian and non-Abelian geometric phases can be optically imprinted onto matter waves, yielding a number of interesting phenomena such as wave-packet redirecting and wave-packet splitting. In addition to their fundamental interest, our results open up opportunities for robust optical control of matter waves. © 2009 The American Physical Society. | Source Title: | Physical Review A - Atomic, Molecular, and Optical Physics | URI: | http://scholarbank.nus.edu.sg/handle/10635/116921 | ISSN: | 10502947 | DOI: | 10.1103/PhysRevA.79.043632 |
