dc.description.abstract | In this paper, we present the current status of the superconducting Helios 2 Synchrotron and review its major problems and their solutions over the last 14 years. We described how various breakdowns in the cryogenics system, the control system, the RF system, Dipole power supplies, Ring gate valves and helium compressor have all been overcome and what valuable lessons have been learned in operating this machine.
