Differential Evolution (DE) can solve multi-objective optimization problem in an extremely efficient manner. Based on thin wire modeling, method of moments code is developed for evaluating the antenna designs. DE is employed to optimize the geometric parameters of Yagi-Uda antennas. The length and spacing of Yagi-Uda antennas are optimized variables. The results clearly show that the DE is a robust and useful optimization tool for designing antennas. © 2009 VSP.
