A series of Pr-rich Pr-Cu-Al alloys was prepared by arc melting. The onset and offset melting temperatures (Tm and Tl), corresponding to the solidus and liquidus temperature of the phase diagram, were determined by differential scanning calorimetry. A ternary eutectic alloy is found at the composition of Pr68Cu25Al7 (at.%) with eutectic temperature at around 705 K. The ternary eutectic point was also confirmed by scanning electron microscopy observation and X-ray diffraction analysis. © 2002 Elsevier Science B.V. All rights reserved.
