dc.description.abstract | The definition of business information systems generally includes the specification of data, processes and policies.Traditional techniques for systems development , however, focus on either data or processes, often neglecting the significance of policies in a system specification. Although the advent of object-oriented techniques has brought about the integration of data and processes, it is still lacking in representation for policy and its subsequent changes. An evolutionary structural model that takes advantage of the benefits of the object-oriented paradigm has already been proposed. It was suggested that policies should be explicitly represented to facilitate future policy changes. This article extends that work and examines how policies could be integrated within an object-oriented model. | |
