The effect of different ratios of the horizontal arm length to the height of the L-shaped monopole on the impedance characteristics is discussed. The investigation demonstrates how a monopole with an overall quarter-wavelength converts to a low-profile small inverted-L antenna (ILA). It also shows that a height of approximately 10% operating wavelength is a critical condition.||Source Title:||Microwave and Optical Technology Letters||URI:||http://scholarbank.nus.edu.sg/handle/10635/112273||ISSN:||08952477||DOI:||10.1002/(SICI)1098-2760(20000705)26:13.0.CO;2-M|
