Abstract: The nonlinear finite difference time domain (FDTD) solution to the high-field conduction model for some solid dielectrics was presented. The FDTD method is one of the most popular full-wave numerical algorithms, where as time-domain method is powerful in modeling transient electromagnetic phenomena, such as the high power pulse penetrating and coupling into electric systems. The model was found to have the best fit to the high field ac conductivity measurements. The field limit of the incident pulse was determined.
