Title: | Effective properties of fiber composite materials | Authors: | Xu, X. Qing, A. Gan, Y.B. Feng, Y.P. |
Issue Date: | 2004 | Citation: | Xu, X.,Qing, A.,Gan, Y.B.,Feng, Y.P. (2004). Effective properties of fiber composite materials. Journal of Electromagnetic Waves and Applications 18 (5) : 649-662. ScholarBank@NUS Repository. | Abstract: | The effective properties of fiber composite materials are considered in this paper. A simple semi-analytic-numerical method, based on the configurational average technique, the method of moment and the Monte Carlo method, is proposed to obtain the effective properties of a general thin composite slab. Analytical results for composite materials with low concentration of spherical inclusions agree well with that by the Maxwell-Garnett (M-G) theory, while the numerical results for fiber composite slab agree well with experimental results. | Source Title: | Journal of Electromagnetic Waves and Applications | URI: | http://scholarbank.nus.edu.sg/handle/10635/111381 | ISSN: | 09205071 |
