dc.description.abstractThe identities of two poorly known potamid species, Potamon (Potamon) lacunifer Rathbun, 1904, and Potamon (Potamon) laosensis Rathbun, 1904, are clarified. Potamon lacunifer had been incorrectly synonymised with P. laosensis by Bott (1970). Both species are very distinct from each other as well as all other potamid species, and two new monotypic genera are established for them. Potamon lacunifer is referred to Rathbunamon gen. nov. whilst P. laosensis is referred to Pilosamon gen. nov.
